Head Coach - Dave Kelly
Dave resides in Barrie for the last 21 years. Dave played his minor hockey in Beeton and went on to play Jr C in Shomberg. Dave has been coaching since 1988 and has been a head coach and/or assistant coach within the BMHA since 2005. Assistant coach BMHA minor midget AA OMHA CHAMPIONS 2016. Dave was also the Head coach or assistant with Barrie AAA for 6 years. Dave has coached several Elite AAA spring hockey teams at various age groups with many players moving on the play in the OHL, AHL and NHL. Dave is also very active with ball hockey which has allowed him to travel across Canada coaching at the Provincial and National levels. Head coach OBHA Provincial Gold Medal champions 3 times, Assistant coach OBHA, Provincial Gold Medal champions 5 times, Assistant Coach OBHF Provincial Gold Medal champions 7 times, Assistant coach OBHF National Gold Medal Champions 1 time, Assistant coach OBHF Nationals. Dave is currently teaching player development in Barrie and the surrounding area as well as working as a scout-recruiter for Hockey Force International (HFI). Before joining the Siskins Dave was Assistant coach with the Carruthers Division Champion Orillia Terriers and most recently the Head Coach of the Alliston Hornets and Innisfil Spartans Jr C.
Asst Coach - Jacob Kelly
Jacob Kelly has joined the Siskins for his first coaching position in Jr Hockey. Growing up in the Barrie AAA system, Jacob excelled and played Jr Hockey in the QMJHL, NOJHL, OJHL. Following his Jr career Jacob turned to Professional Hockey with stops in Weserstars Breman (Gremany); The Columbus River Dragons (FPHL), and finishing with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs in the SPHL.
Jacob’s experience as a player brings valuable insight and perspective that will directly enhance his coaching approach, contributing to the development of our players and the overall success of the team

President & Director of Hockey Operations - Richard Gauthier

Richard Gauthier takes on two new roles this season, President of the Stayner Siskins and Director of Hockey Operations. Previously, Richard coached the Siskins for four seasons, winning several regular season titles. Richard also played with the Siskins and was a formidable defenceman in the 1990s. Before rejoining the Siskins as General Manager, Richard spent two seasons as Head Coach of the Collingwood Junior 'A' team.

General Manager- Henry Barton
Before taking on the role of General Manager; Henry joined the Siskins in 2022 as a Director on our Executive; a role he continues to operate in. Henry can often be seen spending most of his free time in the arena scouting or coaching or just watching Hockey. He previously served with Clearview Minor Hockey as an Executive member and has 15 years Coaching experience in Minor Hockey and a two year stint with the Collingwood Blues (Blackhawks) of the OJHL. Henry was born in North Bay but now calls Stayner home.

Daryl Ashenden - Equipment Manager
Daryl Ashenden from Barrie Ontario. Spent 3 seasons as Assistant Equipment Manager for the North Bay Battalion of the OHL before moving onto the Head Varsity Equipment Manager for Concordia University in Montreal. Has played and coached AAA in Barrie as well as being a PJHL alumni playing for the Alliston Hornets
Trainer - Al Scott
Al Scott joined the Siskins for the 2024-25 Season. He has seen time as the Trainer for the Toronto Blue Jays of the MLB, The Hamilton Tiger Cats of the CFL as well as locally for his children's teams in Georgian Bay. Al works with local Hospitals to move patients to other acute care healthcare facilities and is also a proud sponsor of the team.
Advisor- Steve Walker
Steve brings to us over 20 plus years of professional hockey experience. Steve has been a part of 6 professional hockey championships. 5 with the Berlin Polar Bears of the German Elite league where he played 11 seasons and was the captain for 9 years, and 1 with the Detroit Vipers of the IHL where he was fortunate enough to play on a line with Gordie Howe in his last professional hockey game. Steve played in 4 exhibition games with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1999 and scored a shorthanded goal against long time Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Felix "The Cat" Potvin. Steve has represented Canada on 5 different occasions playing in the Swedish games and the Deutschland cup. He has also played in 3 Spengler Cups. Steve started his junior hockey career in Stayner as a 15 year old with the Siskins before returning to the area to raise his family. Steve took over the coaching position with 3 games remaining in the 2012/13 season before taking on the role full time this past season.
Advisor- Kevin Klein
Kevin Klein is a 15 year former Professional Hockey player with 627 NHL games split between the Nashville Predators and the New York Rangers. He was also a member of the 2004 Canadian World Jr team that won a Silver Medal in Helsinki, Finland.
He is now excited to impart his wisdom and dedication to fostering the next generation of hockey talent. He combines technical coaching with the encouragement to pursue excellence, drawing from his own journey to motivate aspiring athletes
